Best Agentic AIOps Platforms in 2026

Agentic AI is the biggest shift in operations in 2026, but the word covers very different things. Here is an honest look at the platforms bringing AI agents to AIOps, and the difference between agentic assistance and agentic resolution.
Why 'agentic' has become the most abused word in AIOps marketing
In 2024 almost no AIOps vendor used the word 'agent'. In 2026 almost all of them do. The word has been applied to everything from a chat interface that summarises alerts to an autonomous system that investigates and resolves incidents end-to-end. Those are wildly different capabilities being sold under the same label. The useful mental model is a spectrum. At one end, agentic assistance: an AI that helps a human do their job faster by summarising, drafting or explaining. At the other end, agentic resolution: an AI that does the job itself, within a policy, with an audit trail. Both are legitimate; only the second is what most buyers assume 'agentic' means when they read a vendor deck. The shortlist below is built on where each vendor genuinely sits on that spectrum, not where their marketing claims to.
Five ways to test an agentic AIOps claim in a demo
- Ask what the agent does without a human clicking accept. If the answer is 'draft a summary', it is an assistant. If the answer is 'execute a governed remediation', it is a resolution agent.
- Ask to see the agent's own audit trail, not the platform's log. Every autonomous action should have a policy, an evidence chain and a reversal path recorded together.
- Ask what happens when the agent is wrong. A resolution agent should have a documented rollback path; an assistant does not need one, because it never took the action.
- Ask what the agent can decide to do that a human did not pre-script. Runbook-triggering is not agency; it is workflow automation with a chat interface.
- Ask about graduated autonomy. A serious platform lets you decide, per class of action, whether autonomy is full, gated by approval, or observation-only. If the demo is all-or-nothing, that is a signal.
The shortlist
Almost every vendor now has an agent. The honest split is what the agent is allowed to do: summarise and suggest, or investigate, act and validate under governance. The first is agentic assistance, the second is agentic resolution. The list is ordered by how far each agent is trusted to go.
Opstral
Best for: Autonomous resolutionAutonomous, governed resolution across ten operational domains. It does not just detect and route; ProcBot executes the fix and Sherlock validates it before close, with every action a reversible, audited Action Ticket. Runs SaaS, on-premises or fully air-gapped.
Explore the platform →Dynatrace
Best for: Causal root causeDeep, automatic causal root-cause analysis via Davis across a fully mapped topology. Best when understanding exactly why something broke is the priority; the newest AI is SaaS-only.

Best for: ITSM-native AIOpsEvent management, service mapping and Predictive AIOps native to the Now Platform and CMDB. Ideal if ServiceNow is already your system of record; resolution is assembled from workflows.

Best for: Breadth & easeBroad SaaS observability with AIOps (Watchdog anomaly detection and correlation) built in. Strongest for teams that want the widest integration coverage and easiest adoption; remediation still lands on a human.

Best for: On-call & responseThe leading independent on-call and incident-response platform, with event intelligence and runbook automation (Rundeck). Excellent at getting the right human involved fast.

What is agentic AIOps?
Agentic AIOps uses autonomous AI agents that can reason about an incident and take action, rather than only analysing data. The key question is how much action the agent is governed to take.
What is the difference between an AI assistant and an agentic platform?
An assistant summarises, explains and recommends while a human acts. An agentic resolution platform like Opstral investigates, executes the fix and validates it under governance, with reversible, audited actions.
How do we run a fair proof of concept for an agentic AIOps platform?
Pick a small, well-understood incident class the team already knows how to fix. Give each vendor two to four weeks in observation mode on your real signal feed. Then enable autonomous action for that class behind approval gates. Measure: did the agent decide correctly, execute correctly, and validate recovery correctly? That is a small, fair test, and it separates the platforms whose autonomy is real from the ones whose autonomy is a chatbot.
Can agentic autonomy be regulated for our compliance requirements?
Yes, if the platform's action model is built for it. Every autonomous action should carry the signal that triggered it, the policy that permitted it, the reversal path, and the audit record all together. That is what a change board or regulator needs to accept the pattern. Opstral's Action Ticket is this exact structure; some other platforms produce it partially or not at all, so this is worth checking specifically.
